Religion :
"The fact that there's an afterlife, there's eternity, there's a higher meaning and purpose, is the reason why what we do during our time on Earth is all important."

Existentialism :
"The fact that there's no afterlife, no eternity, and no higher meaning and purpose, is the reason why what we do during our time on Earth is all important."

Kyo :
Neither is correct, yet both are correct; more to the point, the bigger picture is beyond the limits of both perspectives. What we do during our time on Earth is all important, because it makes all the difference, not because there is, or there isn't, an afterlife, eternity, higher meaning and purpose; but because we wish to make all the difference. With, or without; an afterlife, eternity, higher meaning and purpose.
